Rare Collector's Robot - This huge robot was the first plastic toy robot introduced in 1954. Robert the Robot represents the transition from tin toys to plastic toys featuring the “sensational new patented talking device” and the wired Remote Control. He even looks like he is made of tin with a silver metalic body with red arms.
Push the button on his chest and his eyes and head light up. Turn the crank on his back and he talks. Crank the remote and pull the trigger and he walks left and right.
Recreated from the original Ideal molds, this golden anniversary edition includes: An authentic numbered Robert the Robot, Numbered Certificate of Authenticity, Collector’s Manual covering Robert the Robot’s history, "The Making of Robert the Robot" DVD featuring the Ideal Robot Factory and Commercials.
“I am Robert the Robot the mechanical man. Drive me, steer me where ever you can”. These famous words caught America by storm in 1954, when this technological marvel first walked onto the scene.
